He quickly moved through the organization, jumping from A to AA in 2025 before rising from AA to the MLB just halfway through the 2026 campaign.While at LSU, White was a slam dunk prospect after having one of the best freshman seasons in history at NC State, earning him the nickname Tommy Tanks with 27 home runs as a true freshman. He then arrived in Baton Rouge and played in the toughest conference in baseball. Spoiler alert…he continued to rake.AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementHis first season at LSU, he was an integral piece to Jay Johnson’s first national championship team as he hit .374 with 24 home runs and 24 doubles to go along with 105 RBI, which led the country. Of his 24 home runs, none were bigger than his walk-off solo shot in Omaha that broke a 0-0 stalemate between the Tigers and Wake Forest, sending LSU to the College World Series final against Florida.White was selected 40th overall in the MLB Draft by the then-Oakland Athletics.
