As Longhorns basketball looks to continue its recent success on the recruiting trail, it got an encouraging update on Wednesday. The top recruit in the 2027 class, Beckham Black, reportedly scheduled an official visit with Texas in the fall. That will give Sean Miller and his staff the perfect opportunity to show Black what his future as a Longhorn could hold. After Marcus Spears Jr. reclassified and committed to the Longhorns last week, Black became the top player in his class. The talented point guard has drawn interest from some of the top programs in the nation, leaving Miller and his staff with little room for error. During the recruiting process, Black has received offers from Auburn, Georgetown, Arkansas, Duke, Kansas, Kentucky, Miami, Michigan, Texas Tech, and North Carolina. The heavy interest in the Southeastern Prep High star comes as no surprise, given how good he has been offensively. His impact was on display Wednesday night, as Black scored 37 points while hauling five rebounds and adding four assists to his resume to lead AB Elite to the 86-69 win over Meanstreets. During his scoring explosion, Black showed off his range by draining a couple of three-pointers.AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementSince taking over for the Longhorns, Miler has shown that he can land elite talent. His 2026 class includes some of the best prospects in the country, such as Austin Goosby, Bo Ogden, Joe Sterling, and Coleman Elkins. That group has already created a lot of excitement in Austin.Although Black has not set a commitment date, the fact that he is willing to make the trip to Austin is a good sign for Texas. Now it will be up to Miller and his staff to make Black an offer that he can’t refuse. This article originally appeared on Longhorns Wire: No.1 overall basketball recruit Beckham Black to visit Texas
