The NFL.com top 100 player list is a hot-button topic of discussion between fans and analysts. The list is comprised of current players’ votes, but even the players aren’t above criticism, with Lamar Jackson, a two-time MVP, dropping 65 spots from number two. No matter where you land on the placement of certain players, it is good content during the offseason.Wide receiver Chris Olave was selected for the first time as a top-100 player, and the Saints hope this isn’t the last time. When New Orleans selected the receiver from Ohio State, they believed he was the future of the position following Michael Thomas’ departure from the game.AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementOlave has three 1,000-yard seasons under his belt, but you’d never know that because of the discussion surrounding his injury history. Three seasons of over 1,000 yards are highly productive, especially considering the quality of the quarterback play recently. Here is the excerpt from the Saints official website about Olave’s first selection:”Olave finished a career year in 2025, setting new receiving highs with 100 receptions for 1,163 yards and nine touchdowns in 16 starts. He earned Associated Press second-team All-Pro honors for the first time in his career. He finished with his third 1,000+ receiving yard campaign in his four seasons.Olave is the third Saints player named to this year’s ranking after edge Cameron Jordan was selected as no. 100 and running back Travis Etienne Jr. was selected as no. 96.”AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementConceivably, the Saints could have two more players make the list. Kelvin Banks, Jr and Chase Young deserve a look after their stellar seasons in 2025. Next season, the Saints hope Tyler Shough, Jordyn Tyson, and others make the list, but the competition will be stiff. One thing to keep in mind for fans who disagree with these rankings is choosing 100 top players in a league filled with superstars, underrated players, and solid contributors is an imperfect process. Good players will be left off the list or placed in a spot too low or too high.Either way, it is good for players to get recognized. Olave is on the way up with more room for improvement and production.
