Roma monitoring alternatives to Summerville

Roma is awaiting a reply from Summerville. The Giallorossi are stepping up contact with the player’s representatives and are aiming to reduce the 2001-born winger’s asking price from €6 million to €4 million plus bonuses. The prospective deal would be costly for the capital club, which is reported to be prepared to invest up to €45 million for the Dutch winger, who is currently owned by West Ham. Summerville’s agent is taking time to assess the situation, exploring interest from Manchester United and Aston Villa, both of whom had recently asked about the player.
Roma does not want to repeat a past misstep and has set a deadline to wait for Summerville’s decision. According to Corriere della Sera, the club is also weighing alternatives, beginning with Alejandro Garnacho, who Chelsea had requested on loan. The Giallorossi are keeping an eye on Uzun, a 2005-born talent from Eintracht Frankfurt who finished last season with 10 goals and 6 assists in 28 appearances, signaling strong potential for a young forward or winger.
In addition, Roma is monitoring El Mala from Cologne, another promising youngster (19) who has already demonstrated notable ability with 13 goals and 5 assists in 36 matches. While pursuing these options, Nusa remains a highly coveted target, described as a dream scenario for the club and fans alike, underscoring the strategic blend of pursuit for a long-term project and readiness to act on immediate upgrades.
The situation highlights Roma’s multi-pronged approach to strengthening the squad, balancing a calculated bid for Summerville with interest in talented young wingers who could grow within the club’s system. The emphasis is on smart recruitment, potential resale value, and the likelihood of developing a productive attack that can compete at higher levels in Serie A and in European competitions. As always, the club will consider financial feasibility, contract terms, and the player’s fit within Jose Mourinho’s tactical plans as it negotiates possible deals and monitors broader market interest from top European clubs.
