​HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) — Two-time Triple Crown trainer Bob Baffert made his first ever in-person appearance at Ellis Park, and unsurprisingly, he left a winner.Baffert looked on as his horse Salahudin won by two lengths in Race 5 at Ellis Park.Baffert said he’s excited about what Salahudin can do, but at just two years old, there’s still room to grow.“Today is probably the first time he’s been asked to run,” Baffert said. “You could tell he was a little bit confused about what was going on. He acts like a pony. This probably wakes him up a little bit. I’m proud of him. It’s good to have nice horses this time of the year, you get to start dreaming about horses down the road and hopefully we’ll bring some more down here. I’ve never been here so I’m enjoying myself and nothing like a win.”Baffert said he hopes Salahudin will be ready to run in the Kentucky Derby in May. Copyright 2026 Nexstar Media, Inc.
