The Mets could land a haul for him, but what about Freddy Peralta, who they’re likely to trade?Well, as Mark Feinsand of MLB.com noted, while Peralta is likely to be traded, his value has diminished enough with his struggles this season that the return for the Mets probably won’t be as strong as it should be.Mets get bad news on Freddy Peralta’s trade value”Peralta’s season has greatly diminished his trade value, so even though he’s on an expiring contract and headed for free agency, the right-bander’s recent performance (6.67 ERA in 11 starts since May 23) will impact the type of return the Mets can expect,” Feinsand writes.While Feinsand does still believe that Peralta is likely to be traded, the Mets are not looking likely to receive the kind of offers they might’ve been hoping for.They spent a lot to get him, sending Brandon Sproat and Jett Williams to the Milwaukee Brewers for Peralta. Clay Holmes might even bring back a better return at this rate, even though he’s coming off an injury and made just nine starts this year.It’s some bad news for the Mets, as Peralta, if he were pitching even a little bit better, could’ve been someone who’d bring back a huge return.
