We’ve always done this by highlighting the current player on the roster whose jersey number matches the day on the countdown. This year, we decided to change that up a bit by counting down our own list of the Top 100 Panthers of all time. This does not correspond to jersey number, does not need to be somebody who wore a jersey, and will in no way be controversial.#50. Jaycee HornThe number 50 player on the list of top 100 Panthers of all time shouldn’t stay there for long. Jaycee Horn is still in his prime at 26 years old, but he’s already cemented himself as one of the best cornerbacks to come through Carolina. The Panthers made Horn the 8th overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft after a standout college career and combine performance that ranked Horn as one of the most athletic cornerbacks ever tested. He immediately earned a starting spot, but his rookie season was derailed after just three games due to a broken foot. Horn returned for his sophomore season to play 13 games, intercepting three passes and allowing a passer rating of just 62.4. The injury bug bit again during the disastrous Frank Reich campaign of 2023. Horn had to leave the season opener with a hamstring injury, and he wouldn’t return until late November, well after the season was already lost. Still, he finished out the season healthy. He’s been able to maintain that health for each of the last two seasons, and his consistent presence on the field has helped boost his profile, resulting in Pro Bowl nods in both of those seasons. He’s reeled in six interceptions in those two years, five of them coming last season. And it seemed like all of last season’s interceptions were highlight reel plays. Jaycee Horn is now widely considered one of the best cornerbacks in the NFL. He gave up less than 500 receiving yards in each of the last two seasons and allows opposing quarterbacks to complete just over half their passes when they throw his way. He’s been a stellar corner even with little help in the way of quarterback pressure. The Panthers will hopefully have a better pass rush this season, even without Nic Scourton, which should only help Horn’s production even more. If that happens, he’ll surely climb this list. But for now, he’s penciled in at number 50 on the list of top 100 Panthers of all time.
