​GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) – One anchored the offensive line that helped bring the Lombardi Trophy back to Green Bay. The other delivered one of the most iconic plays in Packers postseason history.On Thursday night, Earl Dotson and Tramon Williams officially became the newest members of the Green Bay Packers Hall of Fame.Dotson spent all 10 of his NFL seasons with the Packers after being selected in the third round of the 1993 NFL Draft. He started 124 games during his career, helping transform Green Bay from a franchise that had missed the playoffs for more than two decades into Super Bowl champions.“It still weighs heavy on me,” Dotson said. “It still makes me proud to say, hey, you know what? A team that went through that losing period and was able to come in and turn this program around. That’s an honor.”
For the latest on high school sports in northeast Wisconsin: Despite playing alongside stars like Brett Favre and Reggie White, Dotson believes he never received the recognition he deserved.“I always thought I was underrated because the people that I played against knew exactly who I was,” Dotson said. “Those are the Hall of Famers. Those are the guys that I played against. They knew who I was. So when people ask me if I think I was underrated, I always say yes.”While his career eventually came to an end, Dotson said Green Bay always felt like home.“Green Bay took me out of where I was,” he said. “They gave me a whole different lifestyle. Anything I could do to stay here, I was going to do because this is where I wanted to be. I’d do it all over again.”Williams’ path to the Hall of Fame looked much different.After going undrafted in 2006, the former Louisiana Tech defensive back signed with the Packers and worked his way from the practice squad to the Pro Bowl. During his 10 seasons in Green Bay, he missed just one game because of injury while helping the Packers win Super Bowl XLV.His defining moment came during the 2010 postseason.Williams intercepted Atlanta Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan late in the first half of the NFC Divisional Round and returned it 70 yards for a touchdown, helping send Green Bay to the NFC Championship Game on its way to a Super Bowl title.“That was like a perfect storm, to be honest with you,” Williams said. “That came from film study. Our defensive coordinator made the right call at the right time. Our whole secondary knew what was about to happen. I just went after the ball, and of course it’s history now.”Williams said his success was built on patience and perseverance.“Hard work was what I did, and I never really got frustrated with the process,” Williams said. “That’s what I tell people all the time. I walked on in college. I was already at no. He told me, ‘Man, you already started off at no, so why not shoot for it?’”Although his NFL career eventually took him to Cleveland, Arizona and Baltimore, Williams said Green Bay always held a special place.“When I
