​Eau Claire Regis Catholic Schools announced Monday via a press release that Amy Peterson-Foss will take over as the new Regis athletic director (grades 5-12).“We are excited to welcome Amy to the Regis Catholic Schools family,” Regis President Paul Pedersen said in the release. “Her experience, character and commitment to servant leadership make her an outstanding fit for our community. We are confident she will help strengthen our athletic program while ensuring Regis Catholic Schools remains a place where students grow in character, faith, teamwork and competitive excellence.”“I am excited to begin this next chapter at Regis, and I look forward to getting to know the student-athletes, coaches, families and community that make Regis athletics special,” Peterson-Foss said in the release.The school said Peterson-Foss will officially step into the role on Monday, Aug. 24.Regis has searched for a new athletic director since former Regis athletic director Michael McHorney resigned from the role in May, just under a year since being hired in July 2025.Peterson-Foss brings more than 20 years of experience in athletics, youth programming, leadership, risk management and program development to the Regis community.A native of Boyd, Wisconsin, Peterson-Foss first came to Eau Claire to attend UW-Eau Claire, where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology — Exercise Management.In 2005, Peterson-Foss began her career at the Eau Claire Indoor Sports Center, where she served as executive director. Peterson-Foss continued in the role when the YMCA purchased the facility in 2018. During this time, she also moved to focus on school-age child care and youth programming.In late 2024, Peterson-Foss transitioned into the role of Executive Director of Program Quality, where she has led the association’s work in child abuse prevention, risk management and compliance.Now, Peterson-Foss is excited to bring that experience and passion for youth development to Regis athletics.“Athletics have the ability to teach lessons that go far beyond the scoreboard”, Peterson-Foss said. “They give students opportunities to build confidence, learn how to work as a team, navigate challenges and discover what they are capable of.”As athletic director, Peterson-Foss is looking forward to building strong relationships with student-athletes, coaches, families and the Regis community while supporting a culture that values both competitive excellence and character development.“My goal is to create an athletic experience where students feel supported, challenged and proud to represent Regis,” Peterson-Foss said. “I want our coaches and student-athletes to know that I am in their corner and that I’m committed to helping them succeed-on the field, in the classroom and in life.”Outside of work, Peterson-Foss enjoys spending time with her husband, Jeremy, whom she has been married to for 14 years, and their three children, ages 9, 11 and 13. Their family li
