​After a calm walkthrough practice at Stevenson High School on Monday, the Chicago Bears ramped up the intensity on Tuesday at Halas Hall. The Bears scrimmaged in the humid, sunny weather for just under two hours. Before the practice, head coach Ben Johnson said Tuesday would feature “call-it” periods, moving away from the typical scripts the team has used up to this point in training camp. Here is everything you need to know from the Bears’ Tuesday practice at Halas Hall. NotesThe Chicago Bears started off practice with some heavy run periods in 11-on-11s, and D’Andre Swift gashed the first-team defense for an explosive run on the right side (easily more than 20 yards before the play was called dead) to start things off. Jedrick Wills Jr. started the day at left tackle and played a majority of thee reps with the first-team offense, but Kiran Amegadjie got some opportunities later in practice. Quarterback Caleb Williams found Swift for a medium gain off a play action fake. Wills had one of his two false starts early in the practice. Then, Kyle Monangai ripped off a big run on the right side, another explosive gain for the run game. Right guard Jonah Jackson and right tackle Darnell Wright had their way with Jordan van den Berg and Dayo Odeyingbo. The defense did make a stop on Swift on the next team period, which started from inside the 10-yard line. Devin Bush showed off his speed, catching Williams from behind as the Bears’ quarterback ran to his left. Monangai scored a touchdown, showing off good vision. Wills did a nice job of washing out the defensive end to his side. Swift broke off another huge run on the right side, but it was against the backup defense. The Bears’ running back broke a tackle and got into the open field. Williams hit tight end Colston Loveland for a big completion in the middle of the field. Loveland reached up to make the catch. Josh Blackwell had some sticky coverage on Kalif Raymond, who ran a slant route to force an incomplete pass. Against the second-team defense, Gervon Dexter Sr. penetrated through the middle of the offensive line to stop a run for no gain. Monangai had a run stuffed up the middle. Veteran linebacker T.J. Edwards saw some action in 11-on-11s, making a tackle in the backfield on Roschon Johnson. Tyrique Stevenson made a play on a tipped pass from Tyson Bagent. It looked like the ball hit the ground, but there was no whistle and Stevenson returned the ball on the takeaway. The starting offense started a drive by having to rerack a play because Jahdae Walker didn’t go in motion. Swift broke free on the right side and lowered his shoulder against Dillon Thieneman, running through the Bears’ rookie. Austin Booker made a run stop in the backfield. Stevenson broke up a pass intended for Raymond on third-and-1. Swift picked up the first down on a fourth-down carry.
