This post was originally going to be about second-year player Jahmir Joseph, but he recently switched from #23 to #0. So, instead, we are going back a few years and looking at Curtis Jacobs.I mentioned this during the spring when we did our “Best Players of the James Franklin Era” bracket, but Jacobs is one of the more underrated linebackers that Penn State’s had. He didn’t have the gaudy tackle numbers — just 171 in his career — but his 24 TFLs and 9.5 sacks are really impressive for a linebacker. For reference, Sean Lee had 29.5 TFLs and 11 sacks so Jacobs was not far off that.Since leaving Penn State after the 2023 season, Jacobs has bounced around NFL practice squads. He’s played with the Chiefs, Patriots, Titans, Giants, back to the Titans, a stint with the DC Defenders in the AFL, and now back to the NFL with the Washington Commanders. Let’s see if he can stick on an NFL team this season.Just 23 days.
