PSG Nears €58m Deal and Final Talks Expected Friday

According to the latest reports, the agreement between PSG and Ajax for winger Mika Godts is imminent. However, the Parisians had to increase their offer, bringing it to nearly 60 million euros.PSG continue working under pressure to sign the 21-year-old Godts to strengthen their attack, and has intensified their efforts in recent days.Ajax have been very demanding in this situation, as the Parisian club initially offered 45 million euros and believed their offer was enough to convince the Eredivisie side. However, that was not the case. The negotiations continued in what were described as tense but positive negotiations, and Luis Campos, the Parisian club’s sporting adviser, had to improve his proposal. On Thursday, De Telegraaf reported that the Belgian winger is now very close to finally receiving the green light to sign for PSG. In the end, the Parisians appear to have surpassed the 50 million-euro barrier with their third offer, and with bonuses included, it could even reach almost 60 million euros. According to the cited outlet’s report, the Parisian team’s full offer would amount to 58 million euros. The same report indicates that the proposal has not been formally submitted, suggesting that some final talks as part of the negotiations will continue on Friday. But according to the report, all parties involved are convinced that Godts will sign for PSG in the coming days.On Thursday, the Belgian winger travelled with his team to Ireland for the UEFA Conference League qualifying match against Shelbourne. Godts did not take part in the match, which ended in a very difficult qualification for his team after a 2-2 draw. Elsewhere, Godts’ agent has already reached an agreement with Paris Saint-Germain for his client’s contract and is only waiting for the clubs to finish negotiations. According to De Telegraaf, Godts would sign a five-year or six-year contract with Paris Saint-Germain if permitted by the regulations.Recent reports have linked both Bradley Barcola and Ibrahim Mbaye with a summer departure, specifically to Liverpool. If the two wingers leave, Godts’ signing would make even more sense. In fact, L’Equipe has even hinted at the possibility of another offensive signing in case both Mbaye and Barcola leave the club. So, it should not be a surprise if PSG take another look at the market to see if they can sign another forward aside from Godts and Ferran Torres, who is about to sign with the club, per Fabrizio Romano.
