​Photo by Jayne Kamin-Oncea/Getty ImagesThe NFL’s tradition of preseason joint practice between franchises took a rough turn with the Dallas Cowboys and New Orleans Saints.The Cowboys and Saints held a joint practice on August 18 at the Cowboys’ training camp facility in Oxnard, California, days before the preseason matchup between them.As joint practice sessions usually have extra fire to them, on-field incidents aren’t uncommon. However, this 2026 joint practice led to plenty of fights across the board.Multiple incidents mar Cowboys and Saints’ NFL joint practice with on-field fights The total fight count was stated by Underdog NFL at six for the afternoon.The first incident came early when Cowboys RB Javonte Williams was roughed up on a rushing play, with a Saints defender appearing to throw a punch at him. This led to slight shoving, but the matter was settled and established a chippy tone.Cowboys OLB Donovan Ezeiruaku went after multiple Saints offensive linemen and was pushed down by the opponents, with center Erik McCoy tossing Ezeiruaku’s helmet across the field, prompting another scrum.Photo by Jayne Kamin-Oncea/Getty ImagesA couple of plays later, Ezeiruaku was seen throwing punches at multiple Saints OL, including McCoy.
