The Miami Dolphins brought in veteran kicker Zane Gonzalez to compete with Riley Patterson for the job earlier this offseason after he had stints with the Cleveland Browns, Arizona Cardinals, Detroit Lions, Carolina Panthers, San Francisco 49ers, Washington Commanders and Atlanta Falcons.Gonzalez suffered an injury earlier this month and landed on injured reserve, ending his season. However, on Wednesday, Miami released the 31-year-old with an injury settlement. While Patterson will be the team’s starting kicker in 2026, Gonzalez will have an opportunity to sign with a new team when he’s healthy and can play this year.
