Glasnow last pitched on the sixth of May, throwing just one inning in a 12-2 win over the Houston Astros, and it was a good test for the 33-year-old to face the Atlanta Braves following a lengthy layoff from the big leagues due to severe back spasms. In the end, Glasnow faced some bumps on the mound as the Dodgers took a 4-3 loss against the Braves. In particular, the way he pitched in the first inning was rough. He allowed Atlanta to score three runs in the bottom of the first, putting LA on the backfoot immediately. But the mere fact that he still lasted five innings on the night and kept his earned run allowed total to just three was a testament to Glasnow’s resiliency on a night where everything could have easily gone worse for the Dodgers starter. In the four innings since that unfortunate start to the game, Glasnow allowed just two hits and shut out the Braves.Watch sports LIVE with fuboTV (free trial)“It was pretty fastball-heavy the first inning. A little bit predictable. Not like a ton of hard-hit balls. But it’s just how it goes sometimes. I think coming out in the second, I just felt more in rhythm. Slider was working a lot better. Just felt a lot better,” Glasnow told reporters, via SportsNet LA.”Glad I feel healthy, and my stuff feels good.”Tyler Glasnow (5.0 IP, 6 H, 3 ER, 0 BB, 7 K, 89 P) talks with the media after the #Dodgers drop the series opener in Atlanta, losing 4-3 to the Braves.
