​LSU football lost out on a five-star flip candidate in the 2027 class. According to Rivals’ Hayes Fawcett on Wednesday, defensive lineman Jalen Brewster shut down his recruitment and will remain committed to Texas Tech.Head coach Lane Kiffin and staff made Brewster a priority on the recruiting trail upon their arrival. He committed to the Red Raiders in October 2025, but Brewster’s recruitment remained open. He took six official visits through the spring and summer, including to LSU in May. LSU was considered Texas Tech’s biggest threat. Rivals’ Industry Rankings list Brewster as the top player in the 2027 signing class. The six-foot-three, 300-pounder hails from Cedar Hill, TX. Easton Royal, a native of New Orleans, has yet to affirm his pledge to Texas. He visited Baton Rouge three times between April and May while also welcoming Kiffin to Brother Martin High School.
