CANFIELD, Ohio (WKBN) – Canfield senior Gabe Miller made quite an impression in our live Game of the Week wrestling broadcast as just a sophomore.”I just love competing,” said Miller. “I love the hard work that comes with it.”Miller was named MVP of the EOWL tournament in 2025 and finished his sophomore season as State Runner-Up. He’s qualified for the State Tournament three times, reached the podium twice, and racked up over 100 career wins.”There’s nothing harder than wrestling, in my opinion,” added Miller. “I feel like that helps me a lot with football, just staying tough out there, even through all the hard times.”Miller is also a captain on the football team, a Second Team All-District and All-Conference linebacker for the Cardinals.”I just try to enjoy it. It’s just a sport in the end,” said Miller. “I think about all the preparation and hard work I put into what I’m about to do. I know that I’ve prepared myself well enough to go out there and win.”Miller is just as competitive in the classroom and will graduate Summa cum laude with a perfect 4.0 grade point average.”I’m very academically competitive. It’s what’s going to make my future successful, so that’s what matters more than sports,” said Miller. “I just try to honestly lead by example with whatever I do and just keep my head down and work hard.”Copyright 2026 Nexstar Media, Inc.
