However, many years ago, the goalkeeper was still playing for his boyhood club, Schalke. It seems like forever ago now, but in a recent interview, it seems like that affection has not faded with time.“I’m the biggest [Schalke] fan, when they play against Dortmund,” Neuer told DAZN via @iMiaSanMia with a laugh. “But, of course, I want to win and keep a clean sheet. For me, the club simply belongs in the Bundesliga. I grew up there; my family is from there. I’m Gelsenkirchen, I’m Schalke, but I also have that Bavarian sense of comfort and laid-backness.”It appears the love for his former club is still strong and despite that love, he is eager to perform once again for Bayern Munich.
