​Chig Okonkwo Fantasy Prediction 2026:Chig Okonkwo arrives in Washington after four seasons of waiting for a breakout that never came. Now, the Stefon Diggs signing has pushed him down the pecking order before he has played a snap. With his draft price falling further than expected, should fantasy managers be drafting Okonkwo in 2026?Should You Draft Chig Okonkwo in Fantasy Football?You very much should be drafting Okonkwo. He’s going outside the top 150 picks rather comfortably. Unless you’re in a league I’m in, in which case he might go right around that range.I think he’s got a real chance to return top-12 value at the position in a Washington offense that was elite in 2024 when Jayden Daniels was healthy and cooking. As for 2025, I’m erasing it from my memory. Daniels was hurt. The offense didn’t function the same. That’s fine. The industry is telling us that it’s worried about 2025, that it’s building that into its 2026 handicap, and I don’t think that’s right. If Daniels is remotely healthy, this offense is top 10 for me. It could push top five.They were top five in scoring and EPA. You know who wasn’t? The Tennessee Titans. That’s where Okonkwo called home. They were bottom five in both of those metrics during his entire stay there. His resume doesn’t look great. I don’t think that’s on him. This is an elite athletic profile. He was just stuck in no man’s land. If you’re nowhere near the end zone, that makes it hard to score touchdowns. That’s not going to be the case in Washington.If Daniels is moving this offense the way we think he can, I think Okonkwo’s got a realistic path to half a dozen touchdowns, maybe more. He can catch 4 or 5 passes a week. I don’t think that’s out of the range of outcomes in an offense that’s going to bank heavily on Terry McLaurin. And then what? McLaurin’s getting up there in age. He’s past his prime at the very least. They bring in Stefon Diggs, who was a part-time guy in New England last season, and you’ve got to think he plays somewhat of a similar role. Then you’re looking at Antonio Williams and guys like that who haven’t proven themselves.I think there’s a role to exploit here, and the industry is not in it. He’s being drafted outside the top 15 tight ends. That means in a 10- or 12-team league, which is what most people play, you can wait until the very end, when people are reaching on the Houston Texans defense, and pick up your starting tight end.Whether or not he holds that role throughout the year, I don’t know. But I do think that, coming out of the draft, you can feel reasonably good about having him penciled in for that role. If not, you move on within the first month of the season. To me, there’s no risk here, only reward.
