​Miami showed why it’s the favorite to win the ACC and a top national title contender on Friday night. Miami went out to California and delivered a beatdown against Stanford, winning 45-6. Quarterback Darian Mensah and wide receiver Malachi Toney were unstoppable, helping Miami jump out to a 28-6 lead at halftime before the program outscored Stanford 17-0 in the second half. Toney finished the game with 12 receptions for 234 yards and three touchdowns, while Mensah finished with 401 yards through the air and five touchdowns. Toney’s 234 yards set a school record for the most receiving yards in one game, while Mensah’s 401 passing yards and five touchdowns set a Miami record for the most in a debut. But we came, we saw, we conquered, and then we put belt to ass,” Irvin said to fans. It was a methodical victory and will have Hurricanes fans fired up heading into their next game on Thursday against the Florida A&M Rattlers. Irvin is always on the sideline cheering the Hurricanes on and will continue to do so throughout the season.Kickoff for Thursday’s game between the Hurricanes and Rattlers will be at 8 p.m. ET.
