Egor Dëmin is adding another skill to his offseason résumé.The Brooklyn Nets guard took on golf in the latest installment of his “Summer Side Quests” series on YouTube, giving fans a look at his first real attempt at learning the sport.Dëmin headed to the golf course with J-Mac and a group of more experienced golfers, who helped him learn the basics of the sport.“I’ve never told y’all, but I’m really, really good at golf,” Dëmin joked early in the video. “And I’m good at driving golf carts.”His confidence didn’t exactly carry over to every part of the game.At one point, Dëmin admitted that he didn’t know he was supposed to pick up his golf ball, prompting some quick lessons in golf etiquette. He also asked his playing partners to help him learn some of the unwritten rules of the sport.“You guys got to teach me also, like J-Mac said, about these etiquette rules and stuff,” Dëmin said. “You got to teach me that so people aren’t going to hate me on the videos.”The video showed Dëmin working through different parts of the game, including putting and navigating the course. He received plenty of instruction along the way, with his playing partners offering tips on everything from his swing to how he should approach different shots.Dëmin also wasn’t afraid to back himself up when he saw an opportunity to make a difficult shot. After being told to play a shot around a tree, Dëmin questioned whether his playing partners were underestimating him.“I mean, better than the last one,” he said after one attempt. As the round continued, Dëmin began to settle in and enjoy himself. By the end of the video, he admitted that he had started to really enjoy golf, especially after having experienced players around him who could help him learn.“I really like golf right now,” Dëmin said. “Especially because I have good golfers around right now. So, they’re teaching me.”The Nets guard eventually managed to make a putt, earning plenty of excitement from the group before joking about his first experience with the sport.“The first time playing golf, J-Mac told me I wasn’t bad,” Dëmin said. “There’s still a way to grow. But it was fun.”The golf outing is the latest “side quest” Dëmin has taken on during his busy offseason. The second-year guard has consistently been giving Nets fans a glimpse into his life away from the court, with new videos coming out at least once a week. From offseason workouts to trying his hand at golf, Dëmin’s videos have given Nets fans a chance to see more of his personality as he prepares for his second NBA season. And judging by the comments on the latest video, Nets fans are enjoying every minute of it.One fan joked that Dëmin was being set up to fail with the smaller golf clubs because of his size, while another simply commented, “Breakout year.”Someone else was already looking ahead, asking the obvious question: Is a one-on-one golf match against LeBron James coming next? For now, Dëmin
