Over three and a half years ago, in January 2023, 36-year-old Clancy was home with her three young children. Allegedly, she asked her husband to go and pick up some food for the family and medication for their eldest child. During the short window while her husband was away from home, she is said to have strangled each of her kids with an exercise band before attempting to take her own life. Upon returning home, the husband found his wife paralyzed from the waist down during her suicide attempt, and the three children fatally injured.The trial has divided opinion. Clancy has admitted to the acts, but has pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity. Her defense team points to a severe, undiagnosed postpartum psychosis, presenting evidence of her declining mental health and suicidal tendencies. The state argued the killings were calculated, premeditated, and intentional, which is exactly what the controversial Josh Hokit believes.Hokit took to social media to share his thoughts on the case, which earlier went to a mistrial on Friday, September 4.“If you think Lindsay Clancy is innocent because her hormones are unbalanced, then you should probably think women’s hormones are too unbalanced to even run for political office,” Hokit said. “You probably should think women’s hormones are too unbalanced to even drive. To even vote.”“They say, Josh, you should look at it through a woman’s point of view. And what do you think I’m doing?
