Pine Forest had a statement win at Crestview on Thursday, while three other local teams (Escambia, Milton, West Florida) picked up their first wins of the season.Tate boys golf continues to flex its muscles, as the Aggies won two quad matches, including one over Pace. Gulf Breeze boys cross country finished second at the Pace Patriot Invitational, while the Pensacola Christian boys were the highest placing 1A team at the 13th annual Florida Horse Park Invitational in Ocala, placing 16th out of 66 teams.All that means plenty of nominees for this week’s Florida Power & Light PNJ Boys Athlete of the Week. Booker T. Washington football’s Caden Osborn won last week’s award with 79.5 percent of the vote.Now it’s time to make your voice heard again. Voting closes at 11 a.m Saturday, and the winners will be announced each Monday after the poll closes. Each weekly winner will be awarded a PNJ Athlete of the Week shirt provided by BSN SPORTS. An athlete can only win one time per season.Nominees will be accepted via phone or email, but the poll is decided by PNJ staff. Send nominations by Sunday night.
