​Four-star defensive lineman Sam LeJeune was one of the biggest commitments that Florida State got during the summer, and he’s also one of their highest-ranked prospects in their 2027 class. That being said, he’s still being pursued heavily by the California Bears.They were a major threat to FSU before he made his pledge, and that continued last weekend when LeJeune visited for their game versus the UCLA Bruins. He was also in Tallahassee on Monday night when Florida State lost a nail-biter to the SMU Mustangs 27-24. So, where does LeJeune stand as far as his recruitment as of now?According to the 6-foot-3, 280-pounder, the Seminoles still have his unwavering commitment despite the Bears’ interest.”I’m still an FSU commit through the thick and thin,” LeJeune said via Brendan Sonnone of 247Sports. “I got faith.”LeJeune got a firsthand look at Florida State’s defense versus SMU, and it wasn’t pretty. Yes, they created four turnovers, but they also gave up 585 yards and nearly 30 points. Once again, just like their season opener, they were terrible on third down, allowing eight conversions on 14 attempts.It has been a rough start for defensive coordinator Tony White’s unit, but LeJeune believes that things will improve at some point. “I’m feeling good about FSU,” LeJeune said.This is a great sign for Florida State regarding LeJeune, but it doesn’t mean things can’t change. So, to ensure that LeJeune remains on board, they need to win.
