ground, Everton do not possess the greatest of records there. Not at all.I have
covered our last win there in a previous opening day article, Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s great header
from a Lucas Digne cross, in front of zero fans in 2020.The last win

300th game in charge, ironically and Spurs had a 100% record under
Harry Redknapp to protect. Everton came out winners after a free kick from
Mikel Arteta was finished (albeit off the shin of Corluka) by Steven Pienaar.
Everton were well worth the win after being twice denied by Gomes in the Spurs
goal, as Louis Saha should have bagged a couple. You may be thinking, ‘I don’t
remember this game’, you would not be alone. The biggest story in this game was
Yakubu’s disastrous Archilles Tendon injury. I always remember the sight of the
‘Yak’ removing his boot on the sidelines. Yakubu’s Everton career was never the

away at Spurs in three seasons, what is this tomfoolery?This was a
great win. No denying. The fact that Kevin Kilbane was sent off within 30 mins
did not dampen the day at all. Oh, and Gary Naismith nearly blasting a scramble
into his own net, when it ricocheted against the bar! Callum Davenport was the
unfortunate man who put in a Joleon Lescott header into his own net after continued
Everton pressure. The man of the moment, Andy Johnson, made 100% sure of the
points after finishing a lovely ball from Phil Neville. So, in three games, I have shown you all the wins in the Premier League away at Spurs. Get
the picture now?We have some
hidings down in North London. Both sides. I am going to delve into all them.Tottenham
1-0 Everton (24th May 2026)Little
picture to paint here. Spurs were on the brink of relegation, sat 17th
in the league and if West Ham won and they lost, they would be in the
Championship. West Ham done their job, they won 3-0 against a lacklustre Leeds
United. Lacklustre was not the word for Everton this day. Everton were on the
beach and made no attempt to even break Spurs down, watching the game, you knew
if Everton scored, Spurs would fold. Joao Palhinha scored and kept Spurs up, and
Everton walked off the pitch knowing they had the chance to send Spurs down and
never even remotely attempted to carry it out.A big
performance is needed on Saturday, let us hope they don’t wave the white flag
again.
