There are teams in the WNBA … practicing at like YMCAs. They’re sharing a court by a curtain when there’s like YMCA youth camps going on one side and a team practicing on the other. Like, is that not insane?”Cunningham added that there are “a couple of teams” that “don’t even have a weight room.”The Fever guard also touched on the qualities she would like to see in the league’s next commissioner.“You need to have great character that is willing to withstand it all and uphold your values and what’s best for the players,” Cunningham said. “It’s definitely someone who is in great communication with the players, because at the end of the day, we should be joining forces.”Cunningham’s comments highlight the challenges facing a league that has experienced unprecedented growth in recent years.
