Kentucky Wildcats crack final 7 schools for No. 1 Class of 2027 SG

The Kentucky Wildcats are getting their recruiting groove back on the basketball front. Mark Pope is starting to figure things out, having already received a commitment from top-25 Class of 2027 forward Ryan Hampton.Adam Diggs should be the next player he has his sights set on. Diggs is a 6-foot-4 combo guard from Goodyear, Arizona, and he is ranked by 247Sports as a top-10 player in the Class of 2027. Diggs is specifically ranked as the second-best player in Arizona, the best combo guard, and the sixth-best player nationally. “Diggs is one of the more naturally gifted two-way prospects in the national class. He put up 18.3 points, 6.1 rebounds, 3.2 assists, 1.8 steals, and 0.8 blocks in the EYBL, and yet what’s glaring is still how much potential he has to keep improving,” 247Sports Director of Scouting Adam Finkelstein wrote. That said, Diggs has narrowed down his recruiting to just seven schools, and the Wildcats have made the cut. They have some elite competition, though, with Duke, North Carolina, Kansas and Arkansas all in the pack as well. Arizona, a solid in-state program, is also likely near the top for Diggs. While not quite as close to Goodyear, the University of Southern California is the final of the seven programs listed.Joe Tipton announced Diggs finalists Thursday evening.NEWS: 5⭐️ Adan Diggs is down to seven schools, he tells @Rivals.The 6-4 senior is the No. 1-ranked shooting guard and a top-five overall prospect in the 2027 class.https://t.co/R6hpQ8fmLwpic.twitter.com/mxJEQu1DN7— Joe Tipton (@JoeTipton) September 11, 2026There are still ample targets in the Class of 2027, so if Pope isn’t able to seal the deal, there shouldn’t be much to worry about. Only six of the top-25 talents in the class have committed, and none of the top ten have confirmed where they will be playing collegiately. With Diggs having one visit scheduled (Arizona) and expected to visit the other six programs, don’t expect a decision here anytime soon. This article originally appeared on UK Wildcats Wire: Kentucky Wildcats crack final 7 schools for No. 1 Class of 2027 SG
