(Photo by Nick Cammett/Diamond Images via Getty Images) | Diamond Images/Getty Images The Pittsburgh Steelers have yet to come to terms on a contract extension with cornerback Joey Porter Jr. The team has made it clear it won’t break its tradition of not negotiating contracts during the regular season, so they have less than 48 hours to get a deal done if they want it to get done in 2026.With the likes of Devon Witherspoon and Christian Gonzalez, among others, getting paid this offseason, many have speculated that Porter will want to be the highest-paid cornerback in the league. Speaking to the media on Friday, the Penn State product denied those rumors.“I don’t really know where that came from,” Porter said via Mike DeFabo. “Whoever [said that] made that up. It’s the internet.”Porter was not a first-round pick, so the Steelers didn’t have a fifth-year option to pick up.
