49ers reportedly signed Kyle Shanahan to extension during offseason, have secured head coach for foreseeable future

   ​In the wake of a statement-making season-opening win overseas, news broke that the San Francisco 49ers had quietly secured their head coach for the foreseeable future this offseason.Less than 24 hours after the 49ers’ dominant 27-7 win over the Los Angeles Rams in Melbourne, Australia, Tom Pelissero of The Ringer and Netflix reported Friday that San Francisco had previously signed Kyle Shanahan to an extension.Shanahan, now 46 and in his 10th season leading the Niners, was reportedly believed to be under contract through 2027 prior to his new deal.Stability in San Francisco: The 49ers quietly signed Kyle Shanahan to a contract extension in the offseason, sources tell @ringer@netflixsports.Shanahan was previously believed to be signed through 2027.
