​One man’s day off is likely another man’s work.Tuesday is an off day for NFL players, but not for coaches and the front office. They are so frequently working throughout the regular season. For instance, the Washington Commanders had already planned for seven players to work out Tuesday and for one player to make an official visit.When these visits occur, they usually involve physical workouts, medical checks, and a meeting with the player. Team doctors thoroughly examine the player for any physical signs or injuries of concern. Players are then asked to perform drills or conditioning tests, revealing how well they have been taking care of themselves in preparation for a sudden need the team may have.When a player is in for a visit, NFL policy requires the team to oversee drug screening and league-mandated tests. There are only so many practice squad spaces available (16), so NFL teams will then schedule a time when a player meets with some coaches and front office to discuss NFL football schemes or issues. Patrick is a veteran of 113 NFL games and is 33. He played his college ball at Duke and was undrafted. He played for the Packers (2017-2021), Bears (2022-2023), Saints (2024) and Bengals (2025). He has played center and both guard positions.Patrick would give Washington valuable interior offensive line experience and depth.
