​Iraola reveals what pleased him most about Liverpool win over SpursLiverpool boss Andoni Iraola took satisfaction from his side’s energy levels more than anything else after beating Spurs in the League Cup on Tuesday evening. Alexis Mac Allister gave the Reds the lead at Anfield with a beautiful finish before Cody Gakpo marked his return from injury with a powerful strike. Conor Gallagher pulled one back for Tottenham midway through the second half, but Dominik Szoboszlai completed a 3-1 victory with an exceptional half-volley in the 90th minute. The win, which puts Liverpool into the hat for the fourth round draw, came just days after they put in a rather lethargic display against Fulham at the weekend that resulted in a goalless draw. Iraola reveals what pleased him most about Liverpool win over Spurs“I am pleased with the performance,” Iraola told BBC Radio 5 Live. “I think there have been different phases in the game but overall I liked the energy. We scored but I am happy because we are in the next round.“I think at 2-0, they have to take a risk and win some territory. We were defending well but conceding a lot of set-pieces and when they scored that put us under some pressure. Luckily for us we found a way to score a third and finish the game properly.”On Szoboszlai’s wonder goal, Iraola added: “I think the thing with Dom is when he is going to shoot he has a chance to score. With him you believe because he has done it before.
