​The US LBM Coaches Poll No. 3 Notre Dame and Nebraska haven’t faced each other in football since 2001.That will change after the Fighting Irish announced they will have a home-and-home series with the Cornhuskers in 2032 and 2033. The series will begin in Lincoln, Nebraska on Oct. 30, 2032 – followed by a matchup in South Bend on Oct. 29, 2033.Notre Dame and Nebraska previously met in a home-and-home series in 2000 and 2001. The Huskers, the top-ranked team at the time of the matchup in 2000, won that game 27-24. Nebraska also came out triumph in the 2001 contest by a 27-10 score.“Both teams have been ranked in the last three meetings between the two programs,” according to Notre Dame’s release.The Irish are 7-8-1 all-time against the Huskers. The most notable game between the two teams was the 1973 Orange Bowl, a game Nebraska won 40-6.Notre Dame and Nebraska had squared off in 11-straight games from 1915 to 1925.
