The 26-year-old was absent from Thursday’s practice after being a full participant Wednesday, with the Colts continuing to list him with a heel injury.Pierce’s absence comes despite his earlier indication that his workload was expected to increase against the Chiefs. He played 32 of Indianapolis’ 54 offensive snaps in the Week 1 loss to the Baltimore Ravens, appearing on 59% of the team’s offensive plays. Pierce finished that game with four receptions for 61 yards on six targets.That playing time was below his usual 85% to 90% snap share when healthy. Simply appearing in the opener was a milestone for Pierce, who underwent surgery in late March to address a bone issue in his ankle/heel.
