Buffalo lit up the Lions defense for a total of 446 yards to go with 34 first downs, while going 9-of-12 on third-down attempts.Even more damning to Detroit’s defense was the Bills clearing all five red zone chances. Bills wide receiver Josh Palmer scored a 43-yard touchdown with no Lions defender near him, highlighting Detroit’s poor secondary play.Detroit didn’t show a notable sign of improvement on defense after Week 1’s close win against the New Orleans Saints at Ford Field, where the Lions surrendered 410 passing yards to Saints quarterback Tyler Shough.Faced with a much talented QB in Allen, the Lions looked lost most of the evening in their futile attempts to lock down the former NFL Most Valuable Player.
