​There plenty of blame to go around for the Houston Texans’ loss in the season opener. The defense struggled in coverage and they also had difficulty getting pressure on quarterback Josh Allen.Quarterback C.J. Stroud could have protected the ball better, especially on the game’s final drive.However, one position that cannot be blamed — at least until the final two plays — is the offensive line. Stroud was sacked three times, but the play from the line is what allowed the Texans to find success in the run game. Texans offensive coordinator Nick Caley still wants to see more out of the offensive line, and the entire offense for that matter, as the season continues, starting with the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 2.”I was generally pleased with that entire group. I really was,” Caley said. “I would say, you want to get all of the short yardage situations. There’s still we can do better. That’s the expectation, I’m not satisfied. We had chances to go do a better job and sustain drives and do those things and not have to punt the football and we had to punt the football. Obviously, you always want to be able to earn first downs. You’ll always be able to do it. I think we’re making progress and we’re going to continue to and we just have to keep going. I think that group has done a good job of growing together. ‘Pop’s’ done a great job with them and we just have to keep on going.”Seeing the offensive line have a good start to the season is promising for the Texans given the concerns about how young the line is, including rookie Keylan Rutledge at center and Aireontae Ersery at left tackle who was a rookie last season.  They will face an even bigger challenge in the Bengals defensive line.
