   ​The New York Mets and Philadelphia Phillies continue their weekend series at Citi Field on Friday night.There was a scary incident in Thursday night’s game as Mets first baseman Jared Young was stretchered off the field and hospitalized following a collision with starting pitcher Nolan McLean near first base in the sixth inning.On a soft ground ball to the right side, McLean and Young converged near first base. McLean’s knee hit the head of Young, who had dove down to try and field the ball. Young collapsed face first onto the infield dirt and was immediately tended to by the Mets’ training staff.After Young was placed on a backboard by paramedics, he was carted off the field.Young was taken to the hospital for examination but the Mets said he had feeling in his extremities.After the game, Mets interim manager Andy Green said Young underwent a CT scan, which came back negative.Now the Mets return to the field Friday night against a Phillies team that is playing for NL playoff positioning.
