BC will look to get back to basics against Maine on Saturday, an FCS opponent that they are expected to defeat easily.Who: Boston College Eagles (1-1) vs Maine Black Bears (1-2)Where: Alumni Stadium, Chestnut Hill, MAWhen: Saturday September 19th, 2026Kickoff Time: 2pm ETHow to Watch: This game will be broadcast live on ACCNXOur staff has spent this week compiling some great content to preview this match-up. Take a look:BC vs Maine: Offense/Defense PreviewBill O’Brien Disputes Claim Boston College Has ACC’s Lowest Roster BudgetTakeaways from the Eagles 28-21 win over RutgersWhat to Watch ForTake control early. Last time BC hosted the Black Bears in Alumni Stadium in 2022, the Eagles led only 14-10 after the first quarter. They eventually pulled away, but it would be nice to not have to see the BC starters in the second half.Test McKenzie’s arm. One of the biggest limiting factors for Boston College this season could be the throwing arm of Mason McKenzie. I’d like to see him try some downfield passes and establish a rhythm with his wide receivers, because it’s been very inconsistent up to this point in the season. This game should be focused on building the confidence of BC’s most important player.Get pressure on the QB. Against Cincinnati and Rutgers, BC has only sacked the opposing quarterback four times so far this season. If they can’t generate pressure on Maine’s offensive line, then it could be a very bad sign of what’s to come for the rest of the year.Prediction: Boston College 38 Maine 10Cheers to what could be Boston College’s last win of the season… Hopefully not.
