The former Tulane and Duke quarterback opened the Sept. 18 game against Wake Forest by completing all 20 passes he attempted in the first half.That broke the previous ACC record of 18. The FBS record to start a game is 26 straight completions by Dominique Davis of East Carolina in 2011, according to ESPN. The all-time NCAA record is 46, set in 2025 by Western Carolina’s Taron Dickens. Mensah came into the game 41 of 45 for 653 yards and eight touchdowns. His two touchdowns in the first half at Wake gave him 10 touchdowns on the year against just four incompletions. He’s threw for 193 yards in the first half.Mensah also completed his last 11 passes last week against Florida A&M, giving him 31 straight completions overall.
