Caleb Williams Fantasy Week 2 Start or Sit: Start Him, Matchup Be DamnedChicago’s opener in Carolina turned into a 59-point circus, and Williams was the ringmaster. That run has him eighth among quarterbacks in PFN’s Week 2 rankings, with Minnesota now in town to try to speed him up. It’s possible last week was his best of the season, but it isn’t possible that I’d bench him with any conviction here.Should You Start or Sit Caleb Williams in Week 2?Week 1 is full of overreactions every year, but I’m not entirely sure it’s possible to get too excited about what we saw from this Bears offense in Carolina over the weekend. The 59 points, sure, but how about doing it without leaning heavily on your best playmakers? How about Williams weaponizing his legs while keeping his head up? How about hitting not one, not two, not three, not four, but five different players for a 15-plus-yard gain through the air?SET YOUR LINEUPS:PFN’s Free Fantasy Football Start/Sit OptimizerHe joined Josh Allen and Jalen Hurts as the only QBs since 2018 with 175 pass yards and two rushing touchdowns in the first half of a game. That’s just one of the many quirky stats that I could throw at you about what he did last week and the fact that all of this came on the heels of his coach saying that he wanted to break the NFL record for points scored in a season.Insane stuff.Week 9 vs. TBWeek 10 byeWeek 11 vs. NOWeek 12 at DET (Thanksgiving)Week 13 vs. JAXWeek 14 at MIAWeek 15 at BUFIMPROVE YOUR TEAM:PFN’s Free Fantasy Football Trade AnalyzerWeek 16 vs. GBWeek 17 vs. DETI’m not sure where this merry-go-round stops. Normally, I’d be pitching a “sell to the highest bidder” approach to a historic performance, and while I don’t think we see him do that 16 more times this season, Tier 1 production is certainly within the range of outcomes. We will see this weekend how developed he is as a player. The Vikings are going to try to speed him up and force him into mistakes. He only had one touchdown toss in 67 passes against them last season, but this is a new version of Williams, and he did average 42 rushing yards per game against the Vikings (that’s more than a touchdown pass worth of value by itself). It’s possible that last week was the most impressive of the season for Williams, but it’s not possible that I’d bench him with any sort of conviction this week because of the matchup.Where Does Caleb Williams Rank Amongst Other QBs in Week 2?3) Justin Herbert4) Jayden Daniels5) Dak Prescott6) Drake Maye7) Jared Goff8) Caleb Williams9) Patrick Mahomes II10) Jalen Hurts11) Jaxson Dart12) Trevor Lawrence13) Brock PurdyKnow the position inside and out with every QB, ranked, on PFN’s Week 2 Board. This article originally appeared on Pro Football Network.
