Both teams have been hit by the injury bug already this year, with starters having to sit out today’s game. The Dolphins will be without edge rusher Chop Robinson, who sustained a concussion during practice this week and will have to sit out today’s game. Miami officially listed him as inactive, along with wide receiver Jalen Tolbert, cornerback Marcellas Dial, Jr., guard DJ Campbell, tackle Chukwuebuka Godrick, and tight end Justin Joly. Quarterback Brady Cook is inactive but listed as the team’s emergency third quarterback. The designation allows Cook to enter the game if both starting quarterback Malik Willis and backup Kyle McCord are injured. The good news for Miami is that long snapper Tucker Addington, who sustained a shoulder injury during last week’s game against the Las Vegas Raiders, is active and expected to play. Linebacker Jacob Rodriguez would likely be the backup if Addington’s injury worsens. The Dolphins signed long snapper Cal Adomitis to the practice squad during the week to provide depth if Addington was unable to play, but he will not be available for the game. With the Robinson injury, Miami elevated both Clelin Ferrell and Max Llewellyn from the practice squad. The moves give Miami added depth with two additional edge rushers joining the game-day roster. The 49ers will be without wide receiver De’Zhaun Stribling who is dealing with an ankle injury. Rather than just listing him as inactive for the game, San Francisco moved him to the injured reserve list this week, sidelining him for at least four games. The team’s inactive list includes cornerback Ephesians Prysock, wide receiver Jordan Watkins, linebacker Tatum Bethune, offensive lineman Enrique Cruz, Jr., and quarterback Kurtis Rourke. Kickoff is set for 4:25 p.m. Eastern.
