Wentz found Justin Jefferson on the second play of the drive for a 30-yard catch to put the Bears into Chicago territory, a catch that gave Jefferson possession of second place in franchise history in receptions with 588 for his career, passing Randy Moss for that mark..@JJettas2 moves into 2nd place in #Vikings history for career receptions. 📺: @NFLonFOXpic.twitter.com/OCLTxvWe77— Minnesota Vikings (@Vikings) September 20, 2026After Wentz was nearly intercepted by Devin Bush, the drive stalled out, and the Vikings settled for a 35-yard field goal from Will Reichard to take an early 3-0 lead. The Bears took over and caught a break on their second play, when a fumble by Caleb Williams was recovered by the third-year quarterback and turned into a 19-yard gain. The Bears moved into Minnesota territory but saw their drive stall out after a holding penalty and a near-sack from the Minnesota defense. Cairo Santos then got the Bears even with a 50-yard field goal to tie things at 3-3 with five minutes left in the first quarter. The Vikings’ next offensive possession was a bit of a disaster, as Blake Brandel’s snap on third down went over the head of Wentz for a 22-yard loss on 3rd-and-2, resulting in a three-and-out. Brett Thorson’s punt set the Bears up at their own 42-yard line. After a couple of penalties on both teams, the Vikings’ defense generated a turnover as Williams overthrew his receiver and the ball landed in the arms of Byron Murphy Jr. for his first interception of the season.Byron Murphy Jr. INT!MINvsCHI on FOX/FOX OneStream on @NFLPluspic.twitter.com/vfUjS4Ea1a— NFL (@NFL) September 20, 2026Unfortunately for the Vikings, they could not take advantage of the turnover as Wentz missed an open Addison on third down for another three-and-out, and the Vikings punted it away as the first quarter came to an end.The Vikings’ defense then forced the first three-and-out from the Chicago offense all seaso
