Final score: 24 to 20.It looked like this might be a terrible loss for the Birds. But it was not! Jalen Hurts ultimately led a nine-play, 65-yard game-winning touchdown drive capped off by a throw to Darius Cooper in the end zone to give the Eagles a lead with just seconds remaining. As always, the Eagles have much to improve upon. The defense didn’t look as nearly as good as they should’ve. The offense had some really frustrating stretches.But the Eagles won. And the quarterback delivered when it mattered most. Jalyx Hunt opened the game with a TFL on Tony Pollard. Facing 3rd-and-11, Cam Ward’s pass to Carnell Tate went through the receiver’s hands with Andrew Mukuba in position to blow the rookie up. Mukuba put his hands up in fear of getting called for hitting a defenseless receiver … but he held up well and there was no flag. Three-and-out.The Eagles took over at their own 28-yard line after a nice 23-yard punt return by Britain Covey. They immediately ran Saquon Barkley behind Cam Jurgens and the running back was tackled for a loss and banged up on the play. Not great! Facing 3rd-and-12 after a swing pass to Tank Bigsby went nowhere, Dontayvion Wicks got open in a soft spot in the middle of the field and Jalen Hurts hit him for a first down. Good ball. Facing 3rd-and-6, a Will Shipley run brought the Eagles to fourth-and-short. Facing 4th-and-1 (a long one, at that) the Eagles lined up for a tush push and it looked like Hurts got it but there was a flag on the Titans for being offside anyway for a first down. Facing 3rd-and-5, the Eagles lined up with an empty backfield and Hurts hit DeVonta Smith over the middle for a first down. Facing 3rd-and-4 after two Shipley runs, Hurts hit Wicks for another first down. Facing 3rd-and-goal from the 8-yard line after a Hurts designed run went nowhere and Hurts had to throw the ball away after Jeffery Simmons got pressure up the middle, Hurts got picked in the end zone and the Titans nearly had a pick six before Makai Lemon did a nice job of tracking down the receiver from behind to prevent the instant touchdown.
