​The Indianapolis Colts again fell in overtime in Kansas City. The Colts are now 0-2 on the season.With the dust having somewhat settled on Sunday’s performance, here are three takeaways from what we saw.Jonathan Taylor leads the waySurprise, surprise, am I right? In a game where the Colts totaled 329 yards, Taylor accounted for 132 of those yards. He ran for 92 yards and was also involved in the passing game with four receptions for 40 more yards. He also scored two touchdowns.Perhaps being mindful of the Chiefs’ pass rush, the Colts relied often on the quick passing game, which meant not a lot of chunk plays through the air and forced Indianapolis to string together long scoring drives. When it came to moving the ball with some sort of consistency, Taylor was frequently the catalyst behind that.Too many holes on this Colts’ defenseThe pass rush can’t get home consistently. The linebacker play is up and down. And there are too many big plays surrendered in the secondary. As a team, the Chiefs averaged over five yards per carry on the ground. Patrick Mahomes was efficient while still averaging over eight yards per attempt, and the Chiefs totaled 523 yards of offense.The defense is a major problem for Indianapolis and requires near-perfect games from the offense to win games.An 0-2 start, and it doesn’t get any easierTeams with a 0-2 record don’t have a strong track record of making the playoffs. Since the NFL expanded the playoffs to 14 teams, only seven of the 28 teams to start 0-2 have made the postseason, although if you’d like to hold out hope, three of those occurrences happened just last season.That said, the Colts’ schedule doesn’t get any easier.
