The update from the team is not a positive one.The Washington Commanders are experiencing a nightmare start to the 2026-27 NFL season. The team’s loss to the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday isn’t even the worst thing that’s happened.During the game, Jayden Daniels went down after his elbow twisted at an odd angle. It looked nasty right away, with Tom Brady inadvertently cursing live on air in response. While fans were holding out hope that it wouldn’t be too bad, the update from the franchise is one that many will not want to hear.Photo by Stacy Revere/Getty ImagesJayden Daniels has dislocated his elbow and is set to miss time after ‘negative’ scansThe Commanders had big goals coming into the NFL season. Most of those are only achievable if Daniels stays on the field without injury for the entire year. However, based on the latest update, he will likely miss a significant period of time. It’s an injury he’s suffered before, and Washington would be lucky if the recovery period is the same this time around.“Commanders coach Dan Quinn said QB Jayden Daniels suffered another dislocated left elbow, and he is expected to miss time,” Ian Rapoport reported. “X-Rays were negative. The last time he had this injury, he missed about a month.”If he misses only a month, that would include games against the Seahawks, Colts, Giants, and 49ers that he cannot play. Most of those teams are looking good this year. This issue might end the Commanders’ season before it even begins. Marcus Mariota will be the main man for a while, but fans will be hoping Daniels can come back as soon as possible.Read more:‘Marriage served him well’ – Skip Bayless praises Travis Kelce’s performance in Chiefs win‘That’s my husband!’-Taylor Swift’s wedding-ring gesture steals attention as Travis Kelce scores for Kansas City ChiefsPatrick Mahomes pre-game drink mystery solved after fans thought he drank alcohol before Chiefs-Colts
