​Flint Town United have sacked manager Lee Fowler following a winless start to the Cymru Premier season.The former Coventry City, Huddersfield Town and Wrexham midfielder was appointed manager of The Silkmen in June 2022.After suffering relegation from the Cymru Premier in his first season in charge, Fowler secured an instant return to the top-flight the following season.He led the club to the Welsh Cup final last season, losing 3-0 to Caernarfon Town at Newport’s Rodney Parade.”The decision to change manager was made all the more difficult by the fact that Lee is such a lovely human being,” Flint chairman Darryl Williams said.”His ability to get to know everyone at the club was exceptional, and he engenders a great deal of warmth and respect.”This is a very sad day for me personally, and the club as a whole.”Flint are currently 15th in the Cymru Premier and have not won any of their opening 10 league games.Fowler’s last game in charge was last Friday’s 4-1 defeat at Flintshire rivals Airbus UK.
