Donald played for the Rams between 2014 and 2023 before spending two years away from football.Donald decided to come back this offseason after the Rams traded for Myles Garrett. The 35-year-old was excited by the opportunity to play alongside the reigning Defensive Player of the Year and to compete for another championship.Donald did not travel to Australia for the Rams’ season opener against the San Francisco 49ers, which they lost 27-7. Instead, he waited until Monday’s Rams-Giants game to return, and he immediately made his presence known.Aaron Donald extends impressive NFL record in Rams returnAaron Donald played 32 snaps in the Rams’ 28-6 victory over the Giants and delivered some impressive numbers. However, the Rams’ defence faced an easier task because Giants quarterback Jaxson Dart was injured in the first quarter at SoFi Stadium.On pass-rush snaps, Donald’s average get-off time was 0.75 seconds – the third-fastest from a defensive tackle in a game this season. He also recorded three tackles (including one tackle for loss) on 14 run snaps.Meanwhile, Donald had one pressure on his long-awaited return. This extended his record of having at least one pressure in every game he has played in the Next Gen Stats era from 2016 to 2026.The three-time Defensive Player of the Year will expect to continue that streak in all 15 remaining regular season games.
