​Real Madrid condemn journalist’s ‘unacceptable’ comparison to controversial newspaperReal Madrid have released a statement condemning Cope journalist Juanma Castaño’s article likening Real Madrid TV to the newspaper Gara.Castano, in his column published on ABC on Tuesday, titled ‘Real Madrid, at war’, wrote that ‘on official television, which is the Gara newspaper of ultra-Florentinism, they ask to leave national competitions’.The journalist further said Madrid ‘has every right in the world to express its anger with the referee, the VAR and the CTA’ following the decisions not to send Cristian Romero and Lee Kang-in off during the Madrid derby.Los Blancos ‘considers absolutely deplorable and unacceptable’ that Castano compared Realmadrid TV with Gara,lMadrid believes they have the right to respond to such a comparison and take any appropriate measures.The Spanish giants have not taken the defeat to Atletico Madrid lightly.Manager Jose Mourinho was the first to condemn the officiating before Atletico also responded to the criticism.Madrid have also called for the resignation of La Liga President Javier Tebas, who has strongly downplayed the club’s claims of biased officiating.The controversial officiating has papered over the poor performance of Mourinho’s side against Atletico.Diego Simeone’s side dominated possession and created the better chances and deservedly claimed all three points.Mourinho’s side needs to improve its performances to stand a chance of beating Barcelona—who they already trail by six points—to the title.Madrid face Villarreal and Sevilla before travelling to Barcelona for the first El Classico of the season on October 25.
