​LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) – For the first time in program history, the Lansing Eastern boys soccer team can call themselves league champs. The Quakers defeated St. Johns, 8-0, on Tuesday to capture the CAAC Red title with a 4-0-1 league record. Senior Tresor Ebuela scored five goals for Lansing Eastern in the victory and called Tuesday one of the best days of his young life. “It feels really great,” Ebuela said. “I’ve been here for four years and we went through the struggle. Freshman year we went 2-14, sophomore year 4-14. So this really feels really great to have this big of an impact on the program.” Luke Kane is in his third year coaching the boys soccer program at Lansing Eastern. In year two, he guided the Quakers to an 11-4-3 record and now has the team at 11-1-3 this season. “It’s pretty unbelievable,” Kane said. “I honestly thought it would take longer than this, so I think that’s a testament to the guys and the work that they put in over the last three years.” Lansing Eastern will continue the regular season on Thursday, Sept. 24, at Lansing Catholic.
