​ROFF — The third-ranked Roff Lady Tigers made short work of Maysville with two identical 12-0 victories Wednesday to wrap up a Class B District championship.Roff improved to 25-8 and advanced to a regional tournament next week.Game 1Roff 12, Maysville 0Roff pitcher Maygan Hill threw three perfect innings in the short contest, striking out six of the nine batters she faced. It was Hill’s 10th win of the season.Hill also followed a leadoff triple by Shannon Ensey with a two-run homer that gave Roff a quick 2-0 lead and sparked an eight-run surge in the first inning. She finished 1-for-2 with a walk.Ensey led Roff’s nine-hit offense, going 2-for-2 with a double, three RBIs and a run scored. Harper Miller and Brayla Grinstead posted identical stat lines, each going 2-for-2 with a double, two RBIs and two runs scored.Kyndall Tidwell finished 1-for-1 with a walk, a triple, an RBI and two runs scored, while Mallori Rogers went 1-for-2 with an RBI.Game 2Roff 12, Maysville 0It was more of the same in the district title-deciding contest.This time, Breylea Pinley stepped into the circle and tossed a one-hit shutout in the three-inning contest. She struck out one, walked one and allowed only a single by Abcde Donaho with two outs in the top of the first inning. Pinley improved to 14-2.The Lady Tigers scored six runs in both the first and second innings.Harper Miller had two of Roff’s four hits in the game, finishing 2-for-2 with three RBIs and two runs scored.Brayla Grinstead finished 1-for-1 with a triple, three RBIs and a run scored, while Kaydee Hunt doubled and knocked in a run.Roff also capitalized on six Maysville errors, seven walks and a hit batter.Stonewall falls at Union City districtUNION CITY — The Stonewall Lady Longhorns checked into the Heartbreak Hotel at the Class A District Tournament at Union City High School.The Lady Longhorns dropped a 4-1 decision to 19th-ranked host Union City before Empire edged Stonewall 2-1 in an elimination game.Stonewall’s season came to an end at 10-16.Game 1Union City 4, Stonewall 1Stonewall scored its lone run in the bottom of the fifth inning on a two-out RBI double by Jaylee Grace that trimmed its deficit to 2-1.Union City (24-5) added a pair of insurance runs in the top of the seventh.Freshman Aubree Alexander led Stonewall at the plate and helped the Lady Longhorns out-hit Union City 8-7. She finished 4-for-4 with a double and a run scored.Grace doubled and drove in a run, while Josie Gillis also doubled for the visitors. Brakelynn Lamoni had the other Stonewall hit.Kamryn Cook paced the Lady Tigers at the plate, going 2-for-4 with a double and two RBIs. Cassidy Taylor finished 1-for-2 with a walk, an RBI and two runs scored.
