​Florida State has adopted a post-game tradition called “Breaking the Rock” under head coach Mike Norvell and strength and conditioning coach Josh Storms. Every player and coach signs the rock before the game, which has the logo of FSU’s opponent, and one player is given the honor of breaking it after a Seminoles’ win.On Saturday, that distinction was given to sophomore wide receiver Jayvan Boggs. He was the star of the day for Florida State as he had a career game with 122 yards on six receptions and a touchdown. He has now eclipsed what he did as a freshman when he missed four games with injuries.What breaking the rock symbolizes is the hard work it takes to complete a goal as well as team unity. In FSU’s first win against the New Mexico State Aggies, running back Sam Singleton Jr. broke the rock.Boggs was coming off gaining 69 yards against the Alabama Crimson Tide, which had been his best game up until the point.
